Last nights bands

Went to Bar 9 in Hells Kitchen for the Anabolics, Kitty and the Kowalskis and Mondo Ray.
Bar 9 is a strange joint. They don't normally have punk shows, so there were some boring people having a birthday party that bolted out of the place when the two man Mondo Ray started playing their fuzzy goodness. One woman was clutching her ears as if an ambulance was blaring its siren right in her ear.
It looks like the place has been there a loooong time. They have some cool antique mirrors and signs, and a bunch of nooks and crannies. I had been there before and never noticed a back room that was kind of half tiki style and had some cool paintings on the mirrors of beach scenes.
The Anabolics were their fun punk poppy selves. We left during Kitty and the Kowalskis set. We were enjoying them a lot, but theres only so much time you can spend out of your comfort zone.
After that we went to Ottos for Mike and Seans Psychobilly Night, which is always the LAST Saturday of the month. We caught the tail end of the Soul Reaping Three who were pretty awesome.
