Greenpoint Pierogi Crawl
Thursday, March 31 · 6:30pm - 9:30pm
Location Greenpoint, Brooklyn
The Crawl Takes it to the Boroughs
You asked, we listened!
It's pierogi in March, boys and girls. And in order to bring you that most amazing appetizer, we're going to bring the Crawl to Brooklyn.
Oh yeah.
We're also bringin' it back to our roots a bit; the original crawl was for dumplings in Chinatown. This is dumplings gone to Poland (or for the purposes of our ambulatory exploration...Greenpoint).
Pierogi are a traditional dish throughout Eastern Europe, with variants in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. They come in meat and cheese varieties in addition to the basic potato filling, and are often served with sauerkraut as well. A hint - sour cream is also pretty awesome on either boiled or fried pierogi.
So whichever your preference, we want you to come share the Crawl's first out-of-Manhattan experience on March 24.
Meeting point will be announced shortly.

from the nonsense list...
Carnival of Pranks
If you’re looking for a good time, look no further. On the eve of April Fool’s Day, a carnival of carnivals is rolling into town. Get ready, cause we’re about to take you on a ride that answers the question, How did you? It’s the Treat me Badly, I’ll Love You Madly Blowout Bash Carnival of Pranks. Party mavens James and JF have thought of everything. If you want fun, then listen to this. There’s going to be human arm candy for sale, a jail to lock up all your naughty friends, live cringe worthy diary readings, kissing opportunities, and surprise musical happenings. Just when the you think the fun is over, knock knock who’s there? It’s a massage, and it’s calling your name. Can you hear it? Don’t look for a bouncer, there isn’t one, instead the door is guarded by tantalizing tricksters ready to prank your friends at any length. That’s right, we won’t know what will actually take place, until you walk through the door. If you’re looking for a cheap n
ight, we will feed you (all the free food you can eat) and liquor you up (open bar all night long) for a measly 20 bucks, but bring extra money for the biggest event of the night: the live auction of titillating services, delicious dinners, awe inspiring art and more wonder than you can fit into a bag. A bag of tricks that is. Come. We dare you.

THE SECRET SCIENCE CLUB PRESENTS A BRAIN-BOGGLING EVENING WITH NEUROSCIENTIST AND AUTHOR PAUL GLIMCHER
Think fast! Every waking moment involves choice. Android or iPhone? Pancakes or waffles? Boxers or briefs? Time to call it quits, or time for another drink? My place or yours? What exactly goes on in our brainswhen we're confronted with so many options?
A leading pioneer in the new field of neuroeconomics, scientist and author Paul Glimcher uses the latest technology to uncover how brain biology controls decision-making. He asks: Why do wrongdecisions sometimes feel so right? Are other animals everirrational? Is money an outgrowth of our neural circuitry? What happens inside the brain when we choose to take risks?
The author of Foundations of Neuroeconomic Analysis andNeuroeconomics: Decision Making and the Brain, Dr. Glimcher is professor of Neural Science, Economics and Psychology at New York University and director of NYU's Center for Neuroeconomics.

Presenting the "Godfather of Controllerism":
MOLDOVER
If technology and music are your life, brace yourself- Moldover is about to reformat your soul. Hailed by 700,000 YouTube viewers as "The Godfather of Controllerism", Moldover is a new breed of music icon. Combining the charisma of a rock star, the mad genius of a basement inventor, and the radical inclusiveness of the DIY internet generation, Moldover is "literally throwing away the rule book and reinventing the wheel" (Remix Magazine). Witness his balls-to-the-wall live show at a club, experience his multiplayer music installations at a festival, or pick up and play the "light theramin" packaging of his debut album and understand why the next paradigm for music is a one-man-brand called Moldover.

Greenpoint Pierogi Crawl
Thursday, March 24 · 6:30pm - 9:30pm

Saturday, March 19th
The moon will be at it's nearest point to
the Earth of the past two decades.
356,577
kilometers
away
The night sky will be gorgeous, spring is in the air.
In response we are building an intimate concert within a
waterfront loft for a night of food, music, champagne and performance in three parts:
~ part I ~The Champagne
Laura Lee Gulledge / Second Skin paints a dozen indiscreet
performers who will be serving champagne and surprises while the music rises
from deeply experimental to slightly giddy.
~ part II ~The Hors D'oeuvre
Artisan chef Ryan O'Connor prepares a five spice cacao +
Madagascar bourbon vanilla desert set against early spring flowers with honey
- all served to you by libertine young performers that your parents would not approve of.
~ part III ~The Get Down Low
The music rises into a visceral concert installation by Zemi17,
performing in eight point surround sound on midi wind controllers, brass, various gongs,
patches and electronics morphing from ambient soundscapes to the patented groves of space haus.
The dance floor will be intimate but *live*.
~ cost for entry is up to you ~
Donate what you can,
the proceeds pay the artists involved.
Invites are extremely limited.
Guests are asked to arrive between 7pm and 9pm.
~ rsvp here ~

Note: this is *not* an all night get-dirty dance party.
This night is intimate, artful and gorgeously live.

As part of The Bell House's ongoing series of State Fairs, the Minnesota State Fair Affair is bringing the joys and memories of The Great Minnesota Get-Together to Brooklyn in a Sunday gathering of nostalgia and fun. This "re-creation" will feature Minnesota's brother-sister comedy duo John and Molly Knefel, Radio Happy Hour host Sam Osterhout, and music by DJ Cherry Spoon (aka Anne Szustek). Fair goers will enjoy a variety of imported Minnesota beers and will be well fed by the renowned Mexicue food truck (Minnesota owned) which will be offering 'Mid-wexican' cuisine to complement Minnesota-owned Cake & Shake food truck's traditional state fair treats.
The event will also feature a very special appearance by Minnesota Senator Al Franken who will be judging the food-on-a-stick competition and sharing his reflections of growing up in Minnesota and his memories of the Minnesota State Fair.

The "Warper Party Radio Extravaganza" is a weekly internet radio show, once per month we present a live performance with an audience that we record for our series.
Show and recording will take place at the very awesome and amazing Clocktower Gallery (which is INSIDE the giant clocktower on Leonard St.). See notes below re: directions and security.
**NOTE: you will need to go thru "airport" like security on the ground floor, you and your possessions will be scanned for metal / weapons (it's a public building with courts on other floors).
**NOTE: Security closes at 7pm SHARP and you CANNOT get into the building, so come before 6:30pm !!!!!!

Greenpoint Pierogi Crawl
Thursday, March 24 · 6:30pm - 9:30pm

Saturday, March 12 · 5:00pm - 9:00pm
Location Don Pedro
An afternoon of sleaze and grease with cult-famed Baltimore director John Waters. A predecessor to "Pink Flamingoes," "Mondo Trasho" has some feathery elements that can be seen in his later film. The black and white 16mm film is comprised of songs that Waters claims to have taken from his record collection and features Mary Vivian Pearce, a hippy degenerate "shrimper," fantasies of hitchhikers and Cinderella, and of course the fabulous Divine.
Clips from the documentary "Divine Trash" and a John Waters short will be shown prior to the main feature.
