Dec 30th, Wed- New Years Eve, EVE- A Past & Future Tradition- $25/$20
Every year we cross a line representing the passage between "what we we have been" to "what we will be". We break our old habits and make resolutions to bring ourselves closer to what we want to become. This year we clench this passage with both hands and create a tradition that exalts both sides of this line and aptly name it "NEW YEARS EVE-EVE". This new day is for those that that are interested in making real connections to dive into the delightfully dizzyingly next year while holding strong to the things we've loved in the past. It is either continuing practice or a complete arrival destination. Come, adorn your face with shimmering beauty, hold a drink made with as much love as you are able to give, let your ears and eyes open sounds from the distant past and soon to be future, gawk at bowed backs of feathered bodies and politely turn to the one you've had stars for and ask them if you may press your moist lips against theirs. Expect to speak with playa lovers, world travelers, subversive leaders of the underground, high flying beauties and generally glorious creatives.
$25 or $20 if you bring a letter written and addressed to yourself one year in the future. (We will mail them for you next year)

NEW YEARS EVE PARTY in TIMES SQUARE
with NICK & DANA, and it's FREE!
Type: Party - Cocktail Party
Network: Global
Start Time: Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 8:00pm
End Time: Friday, January 1, 2010 at 4:00am
Location: Times Square Art Center
Street: 300 West 43rd Street (3rd Floor)
City/Town: New York, NY
Bring in the New Year close enough to Times Square to be a part of it, but not actually near that crazy mess!
Like me, many New Yorkers have most likely done the Time Square New Years Ball drop once in their life. If you have you know that its a huge mess over there, with no place to go to the bathroom, or space to move around or even alcohol.
Well this party is close enough to Time Square where you can feel like your part of the crazy celebration happening only one block away, but at the same time we have all the things that the crossroads are lacking! We have tons of space, with plenty of alcohol flowing! Join us for a New Years party of epic proportions!
There is no expensive entry fee or wrist band or any of that nonsense. We have rented out a loft space with views of Times Square. We will have a bar with $5 drinks to purchase.
We have an amazing band Hollis Brown Performing (http://www.HollisBrown.com),
DJ Unpredictable (http://www.myspace.com/dj_unpredictable),
a giant projector so you can watch the ball drop,
as well as plenty of space where you can make out at midnight!
Times Square Art Center
Roy Arias Studios
300 West 43rd Street (3rd floor)
Between 8th & 9th Avenue
8:00pm-4:00am New Years Eve!
This party will be free/ no door charge
$5 drinks (beer, wine, champagne, vodka)
you must be 21+ to attend
This invite open to everyone, so bring your friends!
Ball Gown & Black Tie apparel optional.

You are invited to:
New Lost City : New Years Eve
http://www.newlostcity.com
This party comes in four sections spread across
two buildings hidden in the heart of Brooklyn.
A City of Grit:
Dark + Sultry + Dramatic. Three warm floors of a former factory have been
converted into a party paradise with hidden tea lounges, reckless rides,
live art, cheap liquor and dark dance-floors. The music here is a
throw-back to the classic loft-parties where live afro-beat mixes with
stellar hip-hop and dj's meet in the middle to keep the people moving.
A City of Glamor:
Gorgeous + Lush + Provocative. Intelligent techno to breaks to deep dark
house join in this seven thousand square foot loft lined with dripping
video projections and female chandeliers (yes, there will be fire). The
outdoor terrace will be heated with a wood burning stove and constant
conversation.
A City of Ice:
Hidden + Festive + Insolent. One hundred fifty cubic feet of false snow,
Santas and seditious elves mix with The Modern Dance Awareness Society to
create a winter wonderland that is equal parts absurd and beautiful.
Expect spiked cider.
A City of Fire:
Captivating + Indulgent + Dangerous. This is where beauty meets vice.
Stripper poles, piano lounges, aerial acts, casino games and brass bands
blend into a tribute to the forgotten underbelly of New York City that has
existed long before any of us know, and will continue beyond when any of
us will be remembered.
The Most Important Midnight:
Two Thousand Ten will begin with: champagne bottles, fire acts, brass band
explosions, dance-floor countdowns, kisses from strangers and, for the
chosen few, a three course meal at the center of it all. This is the
start of the best year of your life.
You adventure begins at:
195 Morgan Ave.
East Williamsburg / Bushwick Brooklyn
Take the L train to Morgan Ave. and walk four blocks north.
9pm through 7am and beyond...
$29 at the door. Strictly 21+
Details: http://www.newlostcity.com
Feather masks will be rewarded with champagne and gifts.
The growing list of performers include:
Baja + Dry Eye Crew
The Hungry March Band
Stumblebum Brass Band
Raya Brass Band
The Lady Circus
Hungry For More
Ushering in the new decade with an appetite for the unexpected. Twelve
guests will be invited to a feast during the New Year's Danger party.
Michna
Fred P. aka The Black Jazz Consortium
Dunndee
John Margulies
Zemi 17
The Vintage DJ
Joro Boro
Plus fire and ice, art and laughter, love and nudity, prophetic visions
and brief moments of the sublime. We've put everything and then some into
this event. There is too much to list in one e-mail and to be honest, we
want to keep the surprise. These nights will not last forever so
celebrate while you can.
Two thousand ten will be the best year of your life.

BLANKFEST Blanket GIVE-a-WAY
On Saturday Dec. 12th we had the Annual BLANKFEST Concert, where people gave us a Blanket for the homeless to see 20 bands play all day long!
Well, we have close to 500 blankets and counting!
We need helpers to help us give them to the people who really need them - the homeless. If you have a car, that would be GREAT! If you don't, don't worry, come to OTTO's and we'll put you in a car .
We have a good time doing this and, corny as it sounds, it feels real good doing it!
So come on down listen to some music, toss down a drink or two and let's go out and spread some Christmas Cheer!

Johanna Heldebro presents images and video documenting the daily life of her father, who disappeared from her life two years prior. Gemini & Scorpio
Invite you to
A Steamy Party Night at the Russian Baths
Saturday, Dec 19, 7pm-2am, 21+
Banya, 602 Coney Island Ave bet Beverley Rd & Ave C, Kensington, BK
Details and tickets: http://www.geminiandscorpio.com/events.html
FB: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=225288546170
Break out your bikini or swim trunks, and join us and our hand-picked crowd of artsy, different, funky (and nearly naked) New Yorkers for the glorious return of Gemini & Scorpio's legendary Russian Baths party. We will have the newly remodeled & sparkling clean baths to ourselves, with every steam room and sauna ready to please, plus a few hand-picked professionals on hand for the optional platzas and massages. Inside, Zlatne Uste, a 10-member Balkan brass band best known for throwing Golden Fest, NYC's biggest Balkan party - now in its 25th year, will get you sweating faster than the saunas, playing two sets, at 10pm and 12am. Our longtime favorite DJ Joro-Boro, former resident DJ of the infamous Mehanata (Bulgarian Bar), keeps the dance floor sizzling with his hot EthnoMesh Megalophonia mix while we dole out pierogies for everyone. Plus, enjoy: jacuzzi and cold plunge pool; poolside dance floor; rooftop smoking deck; hookah lounge, poker and chillout rooms; authentic and delicious Russian food in a private restaurant room. There will be an open vodka bar 10-11pm. The cash bar will feature drinks at decidedly non-NYC prices.
Three ticket levels: $85 (7pm entry + open vodka bar + multi-course Russian banquet) /$50 (9pm entry + open vodka bar) / $35 (11pm entry). More details on each ticket tier are on our website. Only 100 tix on presale -- 50 more at door -- event tends to sell out in advance.
This is the kind of party you always imagine, but can never quite find in real life...and the only one where you'll come out cleaner than when you came in.

FLASHING LIGHTS ONE YR ANNIVERSARY feat. Toddla T!!
FLASHING LIGHTS is the neon brainchild of some of the city's most beloved selectors: DJ AYRES (responsible for 7+ sweaty years of The Rub parties at Southpaw), NICK CATCHDUBS (remix/mixtape phenom and co-founder of the hit indie label Fool's Gold) and JUBILEE (BK bass sweetheart behind her own newly minted Nightshifters imprint).
Come celebrate the one year anniversary of the party on Saturday, October 10th at 88 Palace in NYC - joining the FL residents is UK prodigy TODDLA T, who's signature mix of dancehall vibes and electronic club jams has made him an in-demand DJ and remixer for the likes of Little Boots, Ladyhawke and many more, and his original jams are just as funky - check the downloadable mixes at toddlat.com for the proof. Soundbwoy!
88 Palace // 88 East Broadway (Dim Sum restaurant on the 2nd Fl of the minimall)
