The Geek Girls present 'Wonka!,' a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory tribute show
6/22, Back Room, 9 pm, $10, $5 RSVP
Wonka!
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010, 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM at Public Assembly, Brooklyn, NY
Enter a world of pure imagination.
Ever since its conception, Willy Wonkas Chocolate Factory has always conjured up images of candies and sweets,
of things tempting to the eye but guarded against the touch by the warnings of the eccentric Wonka. On June 22
nd
Geek Girl burlesque brings you that same titillation. Come join the girls of Geek Girl as they embark on their own
interpretation of the fabled chocolate factory. Mixing together the sweetness of candy into their acts, but remaining
as forbidden to the touch, these performances will surely tickle your particular sweet tooth.
Wonka!' will be held at Public Assembly in Brooklyn. Just a short walk from the Bedford Avenue L, Public
Assembly is located at 70 North 6th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211.

Terrence Parker and Mister Saturday Night at Puma Social Club
Start Time: Monday, June 28, 2010 at 9:00pm
End Time: Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 1:00am
PUMA Social Club (210 Front St at Beekman St, at the South Street Seaport)
It's hard to believe that Terrence Parker has never played in New York City. The Detroit DJ and producer has long been one of the most technically proficient jocks in Michigan,But for whatever reason, he's not graced the decks in our fair town, so tonight's set is novel treat.
Joining Mister Parker are two of New York's most revered DJs, Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter. The pair commandeer the music (and all the other elements) at the regular Mister Saturday Night fete that's been at the forefront of the down-home, underground party scene in New York over the past couple years; and they're two of the gents behind the beloved Sunday Best soiree. As DJs they're always surprising and exciting, drifting from house anthems into weird edits and deep soul.
Best of all, the whole thing's free -- even the bar's on the house for the first hour of the evening.
Oh, yeah. There's foosball and ping pong, too.
