Danger puts on really really big events
Three cavernous warehouses.
Sculptures lit by flames.
All night music.
There has been whispers for weeks that several of this city's most riotous
creators are building something brash for the end of July. From 7pm
through 7am on July 31st, dozens of performers are collaborating to build
that hedonistic adventure New York City thrives on. There will be liquor.
There will be fame. There will be a moment when the night goes
exquisitely out-of-control...

At the stroke of midnight, discover a circus long lost. With music from times gone by or times that never were: dark string fusion by Brooklyn's own Copal and bohemian cabaret in 13 languages by Vagabond Opera - our special guests from Portland, OR.
The circus unfolds to the bands and in between: mind-bending contortion by Jonathan Nosan, aerial dance by Madeline Hoak; tribal fusion bellydance by Lauren Robbiani; fire & gorgeousness by Ali Luminescent; gypsy fortunetelling by Kai Altair; an original installation & performance by artist (and Minsky Sister) Kristen Rhea van Liew. Beautiful costumed creatures perform feats of fire in the courtyard. Dusty circus visuals set the mood. DJ sophybot fascinates your ears with a renegade circus tent soundtrack. With your ever-dapper host, steampunk author G.D. Falksen. Plus photo-op custom art installation with works by Molly Crabapple and Kathleen Green. And a few surprise guests we can't mention.

SUPERMODELDEATHDIVE* presents a super huge party at Matchless dedicated to:
*BROOKLYN ROCK N ROLLERS AND SOUL CONTROLLERS*
Starring:
*SORCERESS*
Glitter rock boogie *MONSTERS* from Brooklyn, The *SORCERESS ROCK AND ROLL BAND* are lovers of all that moves, grooves, and glitters. Think T. Rex, Slade, Big Star, Pink Fairies and boogie boogie boogie. More Importantly these are men of fastidious fashion and hair, what else need be said?
*RUNAWAY SUNS*
60's Psyche-pop re-imagineers, *RUNAWAY SUNS* are gonna get you lost in their dreamscape sitar drone, baby. Also far-out fashions and hair, don't let your girlfriend stare too long.
*THE ABOVE*
They are the Mods! They are the Mods! They are, they are, they are the Mods! *THE ABOVE* fuckin' rock, thats it. OK OK, you have to have your comparisons, so we'll hold your hand: Pretty Things waaay before SF Sorrow, Nuggets, Sonics, Kinks, you know, the good stuff. Their trousers aren't flared and their hair is shorter but these boys ain't no slouches on the fashion front either: A+ style guaranteed!
PLUS! PLUS! PLUS!
You will be entertained *ALL NIGHT LONG* in the main room by our *ALL FOXY LADY ROCK AND ROLL DJ KREW* consisting of:

Prima Donna, The Dirty Shames & The Threads!

Created By
Bowery Elektric, Mick Stitch, Lisa Lush

8:00 - DOORS
8:30 - THE THREADS
An evolution of the lower east side staple LES Stiches, The Threads are fairly new to the scene. Don't let this fool you, though. These music industry vets deliver a distinctly amazing engergetic punk show not to be missed!
http://www.myspace.com/threads
9:30 - THE DIRTY SHAMES
Having been described as a cross between The Ramones and early Rolling Stones, The Dirty Shames have managed to stir up quite a buzz in and around New York City. Their frequent live appearances have helped build a following that transcends boundaries and brings people from varying scenes together for the love of rock n' roll.
http://www.myspace.com/thedirtyshames
10:30 - PRIMA DONNA
A five-man high-energy machine, Prima Donna has just returned from supporting Green Day the past 6 months in both Europe and Asia, and the band features Kevin Preston of Foxboro Hot Tubs (Green Day's side project). Clearly inspired by early punk groups such as X-Ray Spex, the Ramones, and the Sex Pistols as well as '70s glitter such as Mott the Hoople and David Bowie, the group's sharp n' concise songwriting sidesteps any notions of the group being "retro." These guys live it, all year 'round, on the road, in the studio, in the street.

Ray Bradbury in conversation with Sam Weller
Wednesday, July 21 2010, 7:00pm - 8:00pm
In conversation with the electronic avatar of Ray Bradbury himself.
Sam Weller, critic journalist and biographer, has put together a hugely entertaining collection of his interviews with Ray Bradbury, the nonagenarian legend of American letters. To help launch the book Mr. Weller will be joining in person. Also "here", via the appropriately science fictional technology of Skype, will be the incredible Ray Bradbury himself. Bradbury will be talking with Weller and taking a few questions from our audience. This is a remarkable opportunity, one of the last, to see and speak with an author nearly all of us have grown up reading.
Space is limited so we do suggest that you come a bit early if you'd like a seat.

Underground Rebel Bingo Club / Secret Location / 7.9.10
The Underground Rebel Bingo Club is a secret gathering / dance party filled with glitter, spectacle, booze, drama, love, hate, prizes and… bingo.
Rebel Bingo was started by James Flames & Freddie Fortune in the basement of a disused Church Hall in the East End of London. These two nightlife gladiators wrestled bingo from the arthritic grips of old folks homes, and the sticky paws of summer camp. With blood, sweat and tears, they created a brand new form of bingo… a bingo that lives in the spirit of music, alcohol and mayhem. On June 11th, the madness is coming to NYC for the very first time. Do your homework, plan your outfit, and be there.

The Christina and Fritz LIVE-IN Installation +
Outrageous Hat Hair Experiences
This is the first ever TOTAL IMMERSION experience from HiChristina. Tonight enter a wacky new universe on Eldridge Street in the LES. On the other side of the tape, Christina and Fritz have created a living installation with lots of ready-made experiences. Choose a chair: the massage block, the hair cut stool, the confessional curtain, a tv-channel surfing chair, a get-served-a-drink chair, an exercise corner, and other stools for the bold or curious... Enter the room and peer from afar or don one of several different hats and cross through the looking glass! Be a servant, a piece of furniture, an uncle, a best friend, a grandma, or invisible: put on the hat with the role that fits your mood at the moment. Trade hats with new friends. Welcome to the fun- a surreal playhouse with Christina and Fritz. Christina wears the kitchen utensils while Fritz is in rainbow sparkler blue. A docent will be prepared to answer questions and point out interesting features. Experience life as Christina and Fritz- all sequins, all the time!

On Thursday July 15, you're invited to enjoy season's beatings at
Cramp-us: Aloha from Hell as part of Coney Island's Annual Christmas in
July with Tigger!, The Lady Aye, Bambi the Mermaid, Bunny Love, The
Flying Fox, Creamy Stevens, and Julie Atlas Muz. The evening will pay
tribute to legendary Cramps frontman, Lux Interior, and keep the true
spirit of the Krampus holiday alive in their hearts! Showtime is 9pm at
Sideshows by the Seashore (1208 Surf Avenue, Brookklyn, NY) and
admission is $10.
More than just a loving homage to one of
rock's finest performers, Cramp-us is the season of giving! That's why
in addition to the evening's burlesque/sideshow pageantry, each paid
admission will be entitled to an Old World-style spanking from our own
in-house, Pagan-inspired, horned, devil beast! It's our gift to you and
we like to believe Lux would've wanted it that way.
