MAD RACKS:BEYOND GLITTERDOM
Monday at 7:30pm - Tuesday at 3:30am
Half Moon (boat!)/ big sky works!
Because september girls do soooooooooo much, we're having a balls-out birthday boat bash from beyond to celebrate FIVE of em who've made LIVIN IT UP an artform: Tanya, Jean, B.A, Cara Lee & Siri!!
So please join us MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th on the HALF MOON as it transcends into the GLITTERDOME and takes you on a 3-hour fantastical voyage through the magical murky seas of nyc.
Boat boards at 7:30, leaves promptly at 8! Please be unfashionably punctual!
As for a theme - there's been all this talk about the end of the world. Well It ain't happening anytime soon (quit being dramatic!), but that doesn't mean you shouldn't act and DRESS LIKE IT'S YOUR LAST DAY ON EARTH!!! (DON DON DONNNN...)
Aside from a crazy-ass rock, soul, funk, punk, etc dance party courtesy of DJ A-Few-Of-The-Birthday-Girls, we got our favorite bands to rock the fuck out:
MADAM ROBOT AND THE LUST BRIGADE (It's band leader Oweinama's birthday tooooo!)
& RAYA BRASS BAND.
The cover is $20 and all proceeds go to "don't let the birthday girls pay for their own bash" fund.
And that's not all!!
If you can't make the boat, come to BIG SKY WORKs at midnight for the FREE after party featuring DJ JONATHAN TOUBIN and live drunken visuals by BAMiAM.tv!!!
The Half Moon leaves from 23rd st and FDR drive. Boarding starts at 7:30, Departing at 8. Returns at 11.
Big Sky Works is located at 29 Wythe at n14, Williamsburg.

Location Washington St. between Water st. and Plymouth st. in Brooklyn
More Info Saturday + Sunday
Sept. 24th + 25th, 2011

The Heather Hart Experience and DUMBO Arts Festival 2011 present Barter Town (Trading Post Vii: Between the Bridges)!
Dumbo Arts Festival is “… a feast for the senses that attracts 200,000 visitors over 3 days with the participation of over 500 artists from a variety of disciplines, 100 studios, 50 galleries and stages and 100 programming partners.”
Whether you want face painting, performance, a film, sporting competition, a raffle, some art, costume making, massage therapy, palm reading, lessons, clothing, a nail salon, vouchers for services, promises, people’s court or anything else, Barter Town is the place to find it and swap for what you have to give!
Barter Town will have the appearance of a street fair or block party, but remember, all “booths” would run on bartering only- no currency allowed (no I-owe-yous for money, although drawing an I-owe-you for service is great).
DON'T FORGET TO "LIKE" HEATHER HART'S PAGE TO BE NOTIFIED OF FUTURE BARTER TOWNS!! :)

SHOUTIN' SCHOOL w/ CHARLES GASKINS & SHIMMY @ LONE WOLF ~FREE~
Saturday, September 24 at 10:00pm
More Info And..... we're back! It's time once again for Shoutin' School with two of your favorite DeeJays ready to learn you a real good time.
If you haven't studied up, this irregular event is a DJ party for dancing to the sounds of real soul, doowops, instro-mentals and raw R&B music. All of these are played from shiny (or scratchy) black plastic discs at 45 revolutions per minute. Well, sometimes as many as 46 per minute, but who's counting?
It's not the same old, same old records this time either-- both us have acquired a number of new old recordings. And we'll both have a few free mixes on shiny compact discs to give away at the venue.
Not to mention the brilliant projections of David Alan Horowitz, which are a regular feature, as is the perfectly worn down wooden floor of this darkly lit venue.
So come out and get schooled

THE BROOKLYN BEEFSTEAK You asked and we're answering. The BROOKLYN BEEFSTEAK is back by popular demand.
Endless pitchers of New York's oldest ale on every table, heaping mountains of juicy steak cuts, and absolutely no utensils. All washed down to the toe-tapping rhythms of Brooklyn's favorite hillbilly boogie band, Susquehanna Industrial Tool & Die Company (SIT&DIE). This is a celebration of America's favorite libation and our carnivorous inclinations. Boisterous crowds committed to communal bread-stacking are not only welcome, but encouraged at this Autumn affair.
Tammany Hall politicians invented the all-you-can-eat-and-drink beef and beer feast, or beefsteak, to win over the hearts and minds of New York's voters. Up until the mid 1930s these revelrous feasts were popular among New York's working class, but later lost favor, surviving only as union hall fundraisers in backwaters of New Jersey.
Now, after 100 years in exile the beefsteak has made it's triumphant return to New York's most bustling outer borough. Come one, come all, to partake once again in the raucous atmosphere of the New York docks and saloons of years past
*Everyone will take home their very own souvenir apron, so you always have a cow map handy when you're grillin' poolside.
